Réunion
plongée is anything but a diving factory,
and wants to keep things to a human scale for your greater pleasure
and enjoyment of the sport.
In small dive teams you will appreciate our instructors’
availability and the quality of your dives, especially the most
famous one on the island: the Pointe au sel.
Of course, you can choose the site according to your level and
what you are looking for, but also, for safety reasons, with
an eye to the weather.
Réunion plongée
is a Gold Palm Resort, the oldest PADI center of St Leu and
the first diving school on Réunion to offer Nitrox diving
and training - with Nitrox, your stay on the island will be
just great.
You will find us in St Leu. Its bay (2 km long from the Pointe
des châteaux to the Pointe au sel) boasts a coral reef
dotted with several very different dive sites (moorage, drift
dive, wrecks, drop-offs or coral slopes accessible in only 15
minutes) which will be just right whatever your level. You will
find coral reef marine life (lionfish, leaffish, stonefish,
clownfish…) in a maze of canyons typical of volcanic formations.
Further out, along breathtaking drop-offs, you may meet pelagic
fish (tunny, grouper, jackfish…) on virtually every dive.
In summer (November to February), the marine life is especially
active and abundant and in winter (June to September), whales
swim across the bay.
Saint Leu is also a pleasant fishing harbour. It will give you
a friendly welcome and has many activities in store. Some related
to sports such as diving, paragliding, climbing, walking, surfing
(the famous "left of St Leu"…), others cultural,
with the Stella
Matutina Museum (an old sugar factory), the National
Conservatory of the Mascareignes (a property dating from 1857),
the
marine park and the salt marsh museum of the Pointe
au sel, but they also offer a testimony to the history of Réunion,
with St Leu's many interesting buildings (town hall, lime kiln,
etc).
